OIG: Use Data To Limit Improper Medicaid Payments

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Inspector General (OIG), in a recent audit, recommended that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) use data available in its Medicaid information system to limit the amount of improper capitation payments that states send to managed care organizations (MCOs) for deceased Medicaid enrollees.
