566 - Fair Labor Standards Act

The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) sets minimum wage, overtime, equal pay, recordkeeping and child labor standards for workers who are not exempt (see ¶563 for a discussion of equal pay provisions). Child labor provisions regulate overtime, working conditions and wages of minors in certain occupations. Grant recipients must comply with the provisions of the law, not because they receive federal funding but by virtue of their status as employers.
