322 - Funding Priorities

Federal application packages or program announcements refer to funding priorities that are usually described as absolute, competitive and/or invitational. These terms define what qualifies for funding: Absolute priorities limit the competition to specific programs and/or needs. Grant writers must address absolute priorities or the application will not be considered. All proposals will have absolute priorities. The absolute priorities are rarely scored.
