Medical: Informed Consent - Extension of Time Period and Modification of Witness Requirement for Signature Consent

This document proposes to amend the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs medical regulations on informed consent by making two substantive changes: extending the time period during which a signed consent form remains vaild from 30 to 60 days and eliminating the requirement that a third party witness the patient or surrogate and practitioner signing the consent form.
