Using the Federal Program Inventory to Your Advantage

It has been several years in the making, but the federal government has now established the Federal Program Inventory (FPI). So what does this mean for grant applicants and recipients, as well as other stakeholders with an interest in federal funding? The FPI (https://fpi.omb.gov/) offers a one-stop shop for users to find information — ranging from program objectives, applicant eligibility, program spending and other factors — about federal programs that provide grants, loans and direct payments to individuals, governments, firms or other organizations.

Using the FPI tool, stakeholders can search and compare programs across multiple categories, and can even filter their searches into subcategories, to build a custom list of appropriate programs. This white paper provides some background on the development of the FPI and discusses ways that users can best find information via this tool.
