The Wait for the White House Continues

I clearly remember back in 2008 when my oldest daughter was in elementary school asking the morning after Election Day who was elected president, and I was able to tell her the answer. Well, fast forward 12 years and here we are in the morning hours two days after Election Day and I still can’t tell my youngest daughter who won the election. And so we wait…
However, many House and Senate races have already been decided and it looks like Congress will be split between a Democratic House and Republican Senate. This could be another recipe for continued gridlock.
Still, grant applicants and recipients should be aware of who their congressional representatives will be, as there were several changes in various House races and will be a handful of new senators. If you do have a new member of Congress, you should find out what their priorities are and how that may affect your grant programs. You may want to contact their office to ensure that they have the support for continuing to fund your grant.
One good way to find out more about your congressional representation is through the U.S. Congress Handbook, issued by our sister company Columbia Books and Information Services. Published since 1974, it is the longest running and most comprehensive congressional directory available. It also is the only handbook that provides users with free staff change email alerts. Until then, we will continue to refresh our browsers and see what the latest vote total nationwide tell us in the coming days.
