If you have questions about the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) JustGrants grants management system, well, just ask (or should it be “JustAsk”?).

DOJ’s Bureau of Justice Assistance recently updated its Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page to provide answers to common questions it has received from JustGrants users. Along with the previous discussions listed at the site, it now provides responses to questions related to the System for Award Management, Grants.gov, entity management, application submission, award acceptance and post-award management. Many of the answers include links to other sources of information on these topics.

For example, in response to a question asking how one becomes a user in JustGrants, the FAQ responds by noting that every entity has a designated entity administrator. The entity administrator needs to invite additional users in the Digital Identity and Access Management Directory (DIAMD), which will automatically send an email to the new user with instructions to create an account and login for JustGrants. Entity administrators are encouraged to view the "Training: Entity Management" page to learn how to manage entity users.

Another question in the post-award performance report section asks “What is a performance report?” The FAQ explains that performance reports provide information relevant to the performance and activities of a plan, program or project. The assigned grant award administrator can complete and submit performance reports by navigating to the “Performance Report” tab in the funded award when using JustGrants.

In the closeout section of the site, in response to a question asking what the steps are for closeout, the FAQ notes that a closeout package is generated one day after the end date of the award. The closeout package will appear in the grant award administrator’s worklist. This administrator can also access the closeout information from the “Closeout” tab in the funded award. The FAQ encourages users to view the "Closeout Training Resources" page to help submit the closeout package. Another question in the closeout section provides a list of the documents that must be submitted to DOJ when closing out an award.

DOJ recipients are encouraged to check out the updated JustGrants FAQ site to ensure that they fully understand the requirements under their award.
