Come See Us at This Week's NGMA Conference

With apologies to late December, it’s the most wonderful time of the year! Or at least in the grants management environment, as we prepare to attend the 2024 National Grants Management Association’s Annual Grants Training conference this Tuesday through Friday in Washington, D.C.
This year’s conference at the Washington Hilton is expected to be very intriguing as we await word from a representative with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) that may offer more information on what may eventually result from OMB’s 2023 proposed Title 2 revisions, including the uniform guidance. These revisions, once finalized and made effective, could impact the day-to-day operations of all grants stakeholders, from federal agencies to applicants and recipients to auditors. Any word on what to expect from OMB during this conference will truly be noteworthy.
There are other plenary sessions of interest this year including one Thursday morning with representatives from several Offices of Inspectors General to address many audit, fraud and agency oversight issues, followed by a relatively new plenary session on the benefits and impacts of centralized grants on various levels of government. The final plenary session of the conference will be the annual question-and-answer session with several grants attorneys. Attendees are encouraged to come to this session with issues that are confusing them that could be clarified via the expertise of a grants attorney.
As always, stop by the exhibit hall as Thompson Grants/CBIS will be showing off our product offerings, from the always informative Grants Compliance Expert tool to our various training opportunities, ranging from forums to webinars to on-site training.
And from the editorial side, I will be sitting in on numerous sessions during the three-day conference addressing issues such as single audits, time and effort, indirect costs, ethical challenges within grants management, subrecipient monitoring, procurement and grant closeout. Make sure to look for me on the front row and introduce yourself.
We’re looking forward to another excellent conference this year. Hope to see you there!
