Once a draft budget is completed and the budget form is filled out, applicants should be prepared to write a budget narrative that explains the numbers on the form. For example, if the applicant requests $2,000 to purchase materials, it would be beneficial to explain to reviewers that the request of $2,000 will provide for a training manual at a cost of $20 each for 100 attendees.
